Discover ABOUT MEXICO CITY
“When I went to Universidad Centro, was the first time in my life that I met people that I understood on a different level. I was able to exchange ideas with the same level of passion. I was so obsessed with living in the city, it keeps you moving. I always go to [the neighborhood] Centro to buy fabric and there's so much chaos and energy, it’s one of my favorite things. Now the city feels like home. I have found myself working with people who are very hard working and there is an energy amongst the people here that I love.”
ON HER BRAND, REVÉS
“I remember I was obsessed with these Japanese pants I found in Loose Blues, a consignment shop here in Mexico City. The shape was wide and they had a lot of cut-outs. And then I realized all these people whose style I admired—Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, Katharine Hepburn—they have very iconic pants so my mind started rolling. I think Reves is an outlet for me and I’m in love with pants—they’re the essence and the core of our style—and I want to develop more pieces in the same careful way.”
ON HER PERSONAL STYLE
“I love being able to move freely. I have a tendency to stretch my legs out and I like being free and unrestricted. I love white shirts, comfortable pants, and a good blazer. I get inspired a lot by movies in general, lately ‘90s movies. But I also love ‘50s glam, that silhouette of a high-waisted pant for me is always a go-to. I love to feel effortless and comfortable.”
ON HER FAVORITE PLACES IN MEXICO CITY
“Museums in general bring a lot of peace, I love Museo Tamayo, it’s very inspiring every time I go. If I need to clear my head I go and have coffee from Drip Coffee. I know the owner, he's a very hard working guy and it’s right downstairs from my apartment. That’s my happy place. There’s also a tiny “fonda” that's very close by called Cafe El Asturiano that my friend Maureen introduced me to. I love places that have people there that you know have been going there for 50 years.”
